Where the project came from
The MistyCloud website is the public face of the hosting platform. It presents the service offering (game servers, web hosting, VPS), product pricing, and blog content. Built on Astro 5 — a framework ideal for marketing sites where load time and SEO are critical. It supports multiple languages via dynamic /[lang] routing.
What was hard
A hosting platform's marketing site must be blazing fast (Core Web Vitals), well SEO-optimized, support multiple languages, and look professional. At the same time, it must be easy to maintain — adding new products, blog posts, or updating pricing should not require any code changes.
How I solved it
Astro 5 as a static framework generates HTML at build time, minimizing JavaScript sent to the client. MDX handles blog content with support for embedded components. GSAP and Lenis deliver advanced animations and smooth scrolling without impacting Core Web Vitals. Nodemailer handles the contact form server-side. vanilla-cookieconsent manages cookie consent in compliance with GDPR.
Result
A fast, SEO-optimized marketing website with multi-language support, MDX-powered blog, GSAP animations, smooth Lenis scrolling, and a server-side contact form.
